| Abstract
-In the e era, there are infinite information and
resources in the internet, however time is always limited and concerned.
In order to provide an accurate and efficient flood information,
it is necessary to deal with data transfer, management and application.
One of the most important issue is to enhance the database of flood
defense information, so that people can obtain flood situation and
relative information through internet on real-time basis. The water
resources agency is working on integrating flood defense information,
collecting the relative data, and establishing an information service
system. Hopefully, the system can be more ease to access, allow
more people to use, and promote the usefulness of the information
system. The main purpose of this project is (1) to collect data from the
Institute of Planning and Hydraulic Research, WRA, ten River Bureau,
and the hydraulic department in the County governments, (2) to establish
these data into the database, and (3) to provide the query and supporting
system. The system developed in this study not only can be more
easily transferring information but also more conveniently accessing
and grasping flood damage information. It will improve flood defense
technology and efficiently reduce flood damage in terms of the populace's
properties and lifes. The system is intended to be built based on
the XML standard form couple with ASP.NET language, so that the
integrated flood defense database can be used at any time through
different system platforms. In order to promote this system, we
will also offer a training course for the technicians in the WRA
and County governments. The system will then be implemented in the
WRA for the flood defense purpose.
