| Abstract --According 
              to the rapid growth of various natural hazard risks on urban area, 
              the conventional disaster loss or risk assessment methods are unable 
              to satisfy the requirement for hazard mitigation planning. It requires 
              an appropriate decision making assistant instrument for hazard prevention 
              planning and risk management.Particularly, this instrument should 
              provide rich information about hazard identification,vulnerability 
              ssessment and risk analysis. The purpose of this project is to suggest 
              the possible application method of HAZ-Taiwan system for land-use 
              planning and earthquake loss prevention planning. We illustrate 
              the application of district-scale earthquake risk analysis to Shih-Lin 
              district, Taipei. The empirical simulation shows that the loss and 
              damage will concentrate on southwest area, the aggregate risk in 
              90-150 billion NT. This project provides the ways in which to apply 
              HAZ-Taiwan system for land-use planning and hazard prevention planning, 
              as well as the issues for whoever uses this system has to resolve.
